Well ex military personnel don’t have military id’s. I showed her my DD214 and she said that won’t work, that she will do it this time but from now on I will need some kind of military ID. Next time I won’t waist my time at Home Depot. You can go anytime and purchase anything, no questions asked for your discount. I have shopped there for years and never had any trouble applying the 10 % military discount. When I was told they had changed their ID policy I registered on line but now you have to use a smart phone app at check out. I don’t have a smart phone and don’t want one so I am told at their service desk there is no way to get the discount. Even if you have the app and could get the discount, most items are not eligible and this just happens to be the items you are likely to purchase at a building supply store etc.

Home Depot is the worst when it comes to applying for a military discount. With Lowe’s, I had it taken care of within hours, completely online. As a result, I was forced to choose Lowes and will continue to. With that said, I could only special order door which eliminated military discount. So unless the veteran is present, you will not be able to redeem the military discount. We’ve had a few people ask us if it’s possible for them to claim the military discount on behalf of someone else that’s served in the military.
